Case Studies 2007

Project Overview

  • Customer Format: Retail Store Chain
  • Project Name: Confidential
  • Completion Time Frame: 72 hours from notification
  • Number of Locations: 126
  • Customer Requirement: Deliver over 5200 critical POS units and recover legacy units under strict time constraints.
  • R&R Methodology Advantage: R&R employs an experienced team of Managed Services professionals. We incorporate teams within our national logistics coverage. This consists of our own warehouse, driver/technician and vehicles. Our ability to plan, resource and manage the Turn-key execution of emergency customer projects provides cost savings and eliminates handoff and multi-vendor coordination costs.

Project Scope

2:00 PM on Friday afternoon an emergency situation in 126 southwest U.S. retail stores was identified. Expedition of a medium scale rollout was required. All 5200+ units were to be delivered and installed. The additional task of legacy equipment recovery and return was added during “on the fly” scope design with the customer. A 72 hour window was given for completion time frame.

Within three hours of the initial customer call R&R completed the following:
  • Picked up and transported over 5200 units to our logistics and warehouse facility
  • Created logical routes which formed a delivery schedule for optimal efficiency
  • Created customized POD’s
  • Designed a web dashboard tool for on-demand, real-time delivery reporting status
  • Assembled store specific equipment kits, loaded vehicles, and dispatched six teams of drivers

Summary

This project was executed with efficiency and accuracy according to the customer’s requirement.
